Heredia Travel Guide - Costa Rica
The town of San Joaquín, located in the province of Heredia, enjoys a comfortable climate all year long, and nighttime temperatures hover around 18ºC (64ºF) due to its high altitude. This makes for a comfortable environment, but just remember to bring a sweater or light jacket, and also keep in mind that the rain season falls between May and December, so you should plan your trip and pack your bags accordingly.
A great aspect of San Joaquín is its proximity to the country's capital, San José. Enjoy an intimate, friendly experience in the small towns of the Heredia province, but when you feel the itch to go to the movies, eat at any number of international restaurants or go out dancing at night, you can head to San José or other nearby cities. When you learn Spanish in Heredia, you can take advantage of the comforts of a small, beautifully biodiverse town with the proximity of a world capital.
