Spanish Literature Course in Spain
The Spanish Literature course requires at least a high intermediate level of Spanish. It has been designed for students who want to expand their studies, improve their professional language skills and, most importantly, discover the most vital literary works of Spain & Latin America in their original text.
The literature class consists of:
- 10 lessons devoted to the general study of the Spanish Language (depending on destination as to whether this is included in total price)
- 10 Spanish literature / Latin American literature lessons
Each professor carefully selects the literary works studied with the goal of providing a global view of both peninsular and continental literature. The teacher will identify the main characteristics of the most important artistic movements, such as the Golden Age, Romanticism, Generation of 1927, and the Contemporary Novel. Some of the authors examined include but are not limited to Cervantes, Lorca, Cela, García Márquez, Isabel Allende, Borges and Carlos Fuentes.
The Spanish + Literature program is complemented by extra-curricular activities such as visits to the National Library and others, alwyas accompanied by an instructor.
