Spanish Course Levels
All levels are subdivided into 3 groups (low, middle and high), so that each student is placed with others of the same linguistic capabilities.
The descriptions below are designed to give you a general idea of which level might be best for you. Please keep in mind, however, that your level will ultimately be determined by a placement test taken as soon as you arrive at the Spanish school of your choice.
One more thing... we offer every level at every school! From the most basic beginners to the near-fluent speakers, there will always be a place for you at a Spanish in the World Spanish school.
Level 1 (A1): Basic/ Beginner
This course is designed for those learning Spanish for the very first time. By the end of the class, you will be able to use basic grammatical structures and vocabulary, as well as understand the most important aspects of Spanish culture and society.
Level 2 (A2): Elementary
If you've already studied Spanish at some point and understand the basics, this course is for you. The elementary level helps you increase your vocabulary and expand upon grammatical concepts, such as understanding the differences between ser & estar and using the past tense. You will leave the class with a good foundation and the ability to express yourself functionally in Spanish (of course, depending on the context). Last but not least, this class will broaden your awareness of Spanish culture and society.
Level 3 (B1) & 4 (B2):
Intermediate I & II
If you already possess a general command of the more complicated structures in the Spanish language, this course is for you. After completing this course you will be able to commicate fluently and express yourself on a more than functional level. As always, you will continue to learn about the Spanish way of life, and your improved linguistic capabilities will allow you to integrate yourself more fully into Spanish society.
Level 5 (C1): Advanced
This level is designed for those who already have a solid knowledge of the Spanish language and are able to converse fluently. By the end of the class, you will have gained a wider knowledge of the Spanish culture and will be more proficient in expressing your ideas at an abstract level.
Level 6 (C2): Proficiency
If you are reading this it means that you have full control of the Spanish language. Basically, we concentrate on perfecting your oral and written skills and helping you develop a global view of the Spanish culture in relation to your field of interest.
